I think by now we can accept that Facebook isn't going away.
At the end of March, 2011, it was announced that 51% of Americans over the age of 12 had a Facebook account.
If you want to control your brand message in front of this growing audience, you need a Facebook page for your business.
What's a page? Have you ever been asked to "Like" a business or celebrity on Facebook? That's a page. I prefer to call it a "business profile".
Within the business profile, there's the usual stuff - the wall, info, photos, events etc., but, most importantly for businesses, there is the opportunity to create a custom HTML-based landing page.
